Freemasonry in London

How to join our Masonic Lodge

Have you thought about becoming a Mason?

St Mary Islington Masonic Lodge in London welcomes you.

It is a relatively simple process to join Freemasonry. The first step is for you to get in touch with us, see ‘Contact Us’ page on this website.

We will arrange to meet you and, if possible, show you around Freemasons Hall in Great Queen Street, Holborn. There are usually guided tours each working day that are open to the public. Then the next step is for us to meet you sociably so you to get to know us and likewise for us to get to know you.

To find out if Freemasonry is for you and you as a member of our Masonic Lodge in London we will invite you to meet with us sociably and give you the opportunity to talk to members of the lodge.

We are a friendly & welcoming Masonic Lodge and pleased to answer enquiries from men from all walks of life regardless of their race, creed or religious belief. We look for men who would enjoy the challenge, personal development and friendship that Freemasonry can offer.

By joining our Masonic Lodge in London you will become part of a Universal Brotherhood giving you the opportunity to explore Freemasonry around the world.

Our Masonic Lodge meets on a late Thursday afternoon, four times a year (January, March, October and November) at Freemasons Hall, Great Queen Street. WC2

We also meet informally, at Freemasons Hall, usually on a few Saturday mornings before our regular Thursday meeting of that month. This is to rehearse what we have to ‘say and do’ at our forthcoming meetings. It is an ideal opportunity to socialise afterwards, meeting with other masons and potential candidates for Freemasonry.
